WHY BIT EXISTS

Bitcoin began as a single line of code - a quiet idea that ignited a global shift in technology, finance and culture. Beyond charts and cycles lies a deeper rethinking of value, trust and the nature of money itself.

BIT explores that shift through art and imagination, not technical papers. Like Bitcoin, it's a collaborative creation, shaped by many hands. It isn't a definitive history, but a curated moment - an artistic snapshot of an unfolding story still being written.

FIRST EDITION AUCTION

In December 2025, after a number of global events, the First Edition of BIT was auctioned at Bitcoin MENA in Abu Dhabi. It was the first — and only — time this edition would ever be offered.

Housed in a 5,000-year-old fossilised black-oak case, bound in bull leather and finished with a bespoke Asprey Studio silver emblem, the First Edition transformed Bitcoin’s digital origins into a singular, permanent artifact.

The auction marked a defining moment for the project. With widespread attention across the Bitcoin community, the sale concluded successfully, with the majority of proceeds toward Bitcoin education initiatives worldwide.

For those who followed its journey, it was a moment in history never to be repeated. The First Edition is now part of the record. Its story, however, can still be explored.
